Fished lanier yesterday with my 3 year old son, and a friend. We kept 66 crappie in an hour and a half of fishing. My son cought his first crappie all on his own at 1 pound even. His second crappie by his self was 1 lb 15 oz. I was extremely proud of him. I don't think I will ever have a better day fishing. The smallest fish we kept was 3/4 lb and the largest was 1lb 15oz. All the fish were caught in the same hole. We left the fish biting because my son fell in. Thank god I make him wear his life vest at all times on the boat. All fish were caught on a deep point on blow downs. We were using light colored jigs. My son was using a jig under a bobber at 4' deep and the jig was tipped with a minnow. Water temp was 48.
