What year are you talking? from JohnM  9/19/2007 1:55:00 PM
My 97 book said 5500, my dealer said 6,000 and propped it to run 5,900 in the winter. That motor is still running strong today with regular maint. On that particular hull a 23 Tempist was the ticket.

DUH here is my sign from JohnM  9/19/2007 1:57:00 PM
I see you posted it is 96 or 97 pretty sure the book calls for 5500 RPM's on those.

thanks John from basskinginthesun (24.107.162.45)  9/19/2007 7:05:00 PM
yeah some people I have spoken with say around 5400, but some have said 58-5900. just need to know what others have actually ran there s to. I am about to try a 22p and a 23p. thanks John for your info, and others please leave feedback if you know anything just want to know what is safe...... sounds like 5900 should be safe thanks

   5900 and you'll and the motor.... from Champ203<>< (68.209.73.234)  9/19/2007 9:36:00 PM
will be VERY HAPPY. Only bass and walley magazine ever propped one for 5500

Peace, Don<><

   Pro-V from SkeeterBill1 (24.247.245.16)  9/21/2007 10:46:00 PM
I own a 97' Pro-V and the manual says 5,500 BUT they run best at 5,800-6,000 rpm's. I turn a 25P A40 Tempest at 6,100 R's light and 5900 rpm's loaded to fish in the summer heat. The pre-1998 motors were stronger than the V-Max due to the HP restictions and emission standard implimented in 98'.
