I caught this smallie at Long Pond in Somesville, Maine 6/9/11 on a 3"junebug Senko Texas rigged with a 3/0 Gamakatsu EWG hook out of a large submerged branch. What do y'all think it weighed? I didn't have a scale and released it.

   did ya measure it? from ridgerunner6901 #14042 #14042  5/8/2012 10:49:45 AM
 Did ya measure it?

   My immediate guess was 4lbs. from 710brownfish #17012  5/8/2012 1:21:23 PM
 That's it.

Well, now it depends... from TheAmBASSador  5/8/2012 9:36:42 PM
by perspective view if you are 4'9" and approx. 95 lbs. then that smallie would be about 10 lbs. But if you are 5'9 and about 225 lbs. I'd guess the smallie to be aproximately.....what 710brownfish said...+- 2 lbs. What'd I win?

I'm 6'2'' 225 to settle that debate. I've caught and weighed a number of 3+ pound smallies, and this was considerably bigger

It looks like from Ralph Manns  5/10/2012 2:15:43 PM
... a 2.5 pounder, considering how far you stretched-out your arm toward the camera. Pictures taken this way totally distort any true assessment of the size and estimated weight of a fish. If it was a heaver SMB, I wish you had photographed it more reasonably. For fish pictures we also need anough imagery of the angler and some estimate of the angler's size. I'm only 5'08" and I make any bass look bigger, while a 6' 06" 300 pound man will make any bass look smaller.
