There is a lake on the Tennessee River called Guntersville. Y’all might have heard of it. If not, I can tell you this much about the place. It is chock full of largemouth bass. Largemouth bass guides too of course. Which when you think about it makes perfect sense doesn’t it? Anyway they don’t bother me. You want to get a fishing guide off his game or better yet off your spot, show up with pink cottontail. I digress ……………………

I was fortunate to recently spend a couple of days fishing the great old fishery with Wacko and his little brother. We had a great time landing countless 4 and 5 pounders that gave way to my overwhelming fishing skills. The brothers were the perfect host and will receive their just rewards come Easter morning. As for the rest of you slackers tsk, tsk……

I know a lot of you guys are expecting some shiny A-rigs amongst your plastic green grass but I am having a hard time justifying it. You guys are not fishing enough and when you do go fishing you fail to deliver pictures and/or reports. And I guess the wife/girlfriend is doing most of the cooking these days because I do not see the braggart chefs posting here much anymore.

I lay this lack of activity directly at the feet of a scary place called Facebook. That and other social media (I remember when I was happily ignorant of that term) outlets have swept away my BFHP regulars like a rip tide off the North Carolina coast. Even my buddy Tucker has gone to the dark side.

Can the Easter Bunny be far behind? Actually I would have already been a FB regular if I knew for sure there was no way for Elmer or Obama to track me digitally.

Oh well, I think Mustard Man has been fairly diligent. I have chocolate bunny here somewhere for him. (Ignore the fact that Rosie the Golden Retriever bit one the ears off MM. Sorry.)

A couple of things before closing.

Wacko wanted me to give a thankful shout out to Rob Shaw for several bags of his custom hand poured soft plastics that arrived in the mail a few days ago. Done just because he is a kind and thoughtful fellow fisherman.

Also Spiner B11 sent him a part for the Ranger boat seat marked “No Charge”. Thanks so much to Walt from Wacko. You know a fellow needs friends like these. Wacko put a hundred dollars worth of feed in ole Pepe this morning thanks to the POTUS’s energy policies or lack thereof. Now there’s a guy that needs some fishing and hunting buddies.

Lastly I need to say that I sincerely wish all you wonderful folks a very happy Easter and please keep in mind what the celebration is all about:

“he was crucified for us under Pontius Pilate, and suffered, and was buried, and the third day he rose again, according to the Scriptures, and ascended into heaven, and sitteth on the right hand of the Father;”

I know that part of the Nicene Creed because I have to say it aloud every Sunday morning lest I get an evil eye from the little lady;)

Ciao,

EB

I spent some time fishing the grass………. from Wackoman  4/3/2012 12:30:16 PM

out from the causeway in Seibold last Friday. Caught a few nice fish in there and was having a great time waving to the passersby’s. Several women pulled their tops up for me and they slowly rolled down highway 79 and that made me think “Hey, I've still got it.” Until Wacko busted my bubble by telling me: “Don’t get uppity old hairy one. Those flashes are for me and are a common occurrence.”

After awhile GTfan said” You know Troy could come by at anytime and he can’t keep it between the lines when he is not trying to wave at the Easter Bunny”. So we move to a more secluded area in the interest of safety. Sure was a good time though with several cars turning around to make sure they saw what they saw before telling the spouse or kids about it when they got home. Ha, that would be a good story to hear.

Anyway I will let you go with this. Wacko and Gtfan fished the BFL. GT had a nice sack but finished just out of the money. Wacko didn’t do so well despite having 4 pounders schooling all around him most of the morning. I will let him tell y’all about that slice of frustration later.

Until next spring this is EB signing off with a bit of wisdom from the man himself.

Wacky tip # 4030 (not that the first 4029 has done y’all much good): Treat your lawn equipment fuel. Outboards are not the only thing ethanol laced gasoline will destroy.

Vaya Con Dios, my darlings……

Didn't cuase a bad wreck like what happened at Hartwell last month.

The "BUNNY" is 'dead'......this morning I went out to from Bill Hunter  4/3/2012 1:26:05 PM
get the newspaper from the driveway. I picked up the paper and turned to head back to the house and there he was...DEAD....laying on my sidewalk..in front of the porch. My grass is about a foot high and I figure my neighbors are sending me a message.....MM

Happy Easter Wacko, and from DaveT  4/3/2012 2:10:25 PM

BR and MM from BR400  4/3/2012 4:39:53 PM
 Have something in common....HIGH GRASS.

Me, I have an excuse. Rain cuased the delayed harvest Sunday afternoon. BR200 and I will attack it soon since he is home for a few days.

MM's excuse it he can't cut it and fish at the same time. I see no problem with that.

betcha there were some real "double takes".... from Beartrap   4/3/2012 8:55:02 PM
from the people on highway beside the lake.....looking forward to your journal....
