SUBJECT: # 112: Little Red River Arkansas

I am going to fish the Little Red in AR this weekend. I usually fish for Smallmouth Bass and I am looking for one BIG Brown Trout. What type of lures and presentations would someone recommend?
I have a nephew that fishes this river periodically and he says that they have been catching some 10-15 lb browns on flukes and other soft plastics. I went to BASSPRO yesterday and bought some of the 6" Optima swim baits, 7" flukes and 10" soft jerkbaits all in rainbow trout colors. I also am planning on taking rods so I can fish some nightcrawlers and craws if I can find them.
I would like to get only 1 bite but hopefully the fish will be a double-digit fish.
If this board is like the BFHP a lot of the people who post will not reveal their secrets on the board so I have included my email address.

contact brooke kilpatrick at niko8_2000@yahoo.com his brother might have caught the state record or close to it. brooke may be doing some guiding for orvis right now i am not sure. i would not hire him as a guide, but would email him for advice. I know he has been there lately
